In February 2015 HMI (Her Majesty’s Inspectors) visited Batley Business & Enterprise College to review the progress we are making since our Ofsted inspection. The HMI Inspector was extremely impressed with the progress made by our school and said he feels the school has moved forward significantly since the inspection in October under the direction of the new Headteacher. The HMI monitoring report will be published on the website and is available on the school’s own website (www.bbec.org.uk).
Comments in the HMI report signify how the leadership in our school has improved since the appointment of the new Headteacher in October ‘The headteacher has a very clear understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the college and has put in place plans to address the areas for improvement.’ The strength of the new leadership team was also commented on positively and HMI said ‘All leaders are ambitious for the development of the college and are clear about their responsibilities. They are all taking appropriate steps to improve the quality of provision’.
The quality of teaching has improved significantly in the school following a new timetable put in place in January and the new staff who joined the teaching team in January 2015. HMI said ‘a set of ‘non-negotiables’ have been introduced to raise teachers’ expectations and more teaching is of a good and better standard. Inadequate teaching has been eradicated. ‘
We would like to thank our parents for their superb commitment to our school and we invite any parents of prospective students and members of our local community to come and visit and see our fabulous school in action, so please get in touch. We would love to show you around.
