UBHS Presentation Evening 2016

Upper Batley High school hosted their annual Presentation Evening on 24th November 2016. With a different theme to previous years, guests were treated to an exciting ‘Men In Black’ opening dance act which consisted of five learners dressed in formal Tuxedo suits.

Guests of honour included, James Evans of Cummins Turbo Technologies, Craig Taylor of Batley Bulldogs and Yunus Lunat a Liverpool Football Club Supporters Committee member. Parents and guardians thoroughly enjoyed an entertaining evening where the achievements of Year 7 to 11 learners were celebrated. The local community showed their support for the event providing prizes for learners which certainly added an extra sense of grandeur to the proceedings.

Parents, governors, distinguished guests, staff and learners were left speechless as the evening closed with a wonderful performance by the school choir. Their teacher Mr Andrew Smith said, “It has been a real pleasure working with the boys for this performance. Their dedication, enthusiasm has surpassed all my expectations and I am looking forward to next year already”.

Mr Graham Hazelwood, the Master of Ceremonies thanked all parents, governors, staff and learners for all their hard work in making the evening such a success. The achievements of learners at the school continue to improve year upon year as recognised by Ofsted, who reported the school as, ‘a harmonious community in which to learn’.

Upper Batley High School continues to raise the aspirations of learners in the local community, and is now the school of choice for high achieving boys in Kirklees.
