Students visit Old Trafford

On Thursday 29th September a group of learners and staff visited Old Trafford to see the Manchester United game. This was an amazing learning experience for our boys, despite the late night. Well done to Mr Cutler for organising this activity. Two coach loads of excited learners (and staff) departed from school at 4.30pm and a great night was had by all. Gary Neville visited our school recently and it was super for the boys to see the very pitch he played on for all those years that he was Manchester United captain. Gary talked about hard work, effective team work and determination to achieve your goals.

We saw that in action at the match and there’s no better inspiration for our PE department than boys seeing their heroes play live. Mr Cutler also runs our Team 16 competition every lunch time in school and who knows maybe the next Manchester United or England captain is currently playing here at Upper Batley High School. Personally, I also think our next trip needs to be to a Leeds match.
