GCSE Results 2015

Batley Business & Enterprise College has achieved a meteoric increase in its GCSE results this summer with over half of the Year 11 students achieving the highest possible GCSE results. The results have increased by a huge 14% this year, with 52% of students achieving 5 or more A*-C GCSE grades, including English and mathematics. Two students namely Haroon Gora and Hasan Dhorat achieved particularly high scores of A/A* grades overall.

The school achieved excellent results in science, English and mathematics and many students achieved the top GCSE grades of A* and A. 100% of the Year 11 students are going on to further education, employment or training and the Batley Buzz has been tangible as staff and students celebrate this year’s wonderful achievements.

New Headteacher Sam Vickers said ‘We are incredibly proud of our Year 11 students who have achieved excellent results this year and these GCSE outcomes are testament to their dedication, motivation and skill. I’d like to say really well done to everyone. GCSEs are a crucial stepping stone in education and we wish all of our students the very best of luck as they go on to college, employment or training. Our students really are Tomorrow’s Successful Men. I firmly believe that a good school, is like a good family where everyone supports each other to be the best that they can be. We have a great family and a great school here in Batley. We are incredibly fortunate to have a fantastic group of parents who really value education and support their son to achieve high standards.

Our school has undergone several major changes over the past 10 months and we have received excellent feedback from Ofsted when they visited us in June. Ofsted commented on the ‘rapid improvements’ and ‘rapid progress’ being made here and this has been endorsed by this high achievement this year. We have a new, highly skilled staff team in place and for September 2015 we have all new computers, a new uniform, new logo, our entire school has been repainted and we have a new name. From 1st September 2015 we will be called ‘Upper Batley High School’. Please come and visit us and see the fantastic teaching in action. Our whole rebrand has been driven by our students. This just proves how creative and how academic they are!’
